Compassionate In-Home Caregiver Needed - Wausau, WI

Are you a compassionate caregiver who wants to make a meaningful difference in someone's life? We are currently assisting a member in the Wausau area in finding a dedicated in-home caregiver to join their support team.

The ideal caregiver is kind, caring, understanding, and has a good sense of humor. Strong communication skills are essential, as maintaining open and reliable communication is important to the member and their support team.

Schedule

The member is seeking coverage for approximately 55.5 hours per week during the following shifts:

• 6:00 AM - 8:00 AM
• 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM
• 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Duties and Responsibilities

A typical day may include:

• Assisting the member with getting up, dressed, and ready for the day
• Feeding assistance and light meal preparation
• Shaving assistance as needed
• Assisting with showers three times per week during the midday shift
• Administering and assisting with medications
• Providing catheter care (experience is preferred but not required)
• Flushing a suprapubic catheter during the first seven days of each month (training will be provided)
• Supporting the member with a structured bowel program, including maintaining a consistent daily bathroom schedule
• Assisting with transfers using a walker and gait belt

The member is a quadriplegic who uses a wheelchair but is able to assist with transfers. Additional equipment is available in the home to help ensure safe transfers when needed.

Qualifications

• Caregiving experience preferred
• Catheter care experience is a plus
• Dependable and punctual
• Strong communication skills
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful
• Willing to learn and follow individualized care routines

Pay

$17.00 per hour
