Some caregiving jobs feel rushed, noisy, or impersonal. This one isn’t that.
A private home is seeking a weekend daytime caregiver for a role that is calm, intentional, and genuinely enjoyable. The person receiving support is a 58-year-old woman who is sharp, independent, and deeply values respect, conversation, and mutual trust.
She is legally blind and lives with MS, but she directs her own life and care with clarity. What she’s looking for isn’t just help — it’s a capable, grounded person who shows up with confidence, curiosity, and care.
This is the kind of position caregivers talk about later and say, “That was a really good placement.”

What Your Time Will Look Like
The pace of the day is steady and unrushed. Support may include assistance with personal care, wheelchair or mobility needs, medication reminders, and preparing meals. Meals are shared, not separate. Light housekeeping helps keep the home comfortable, and occasional wound cleaning and rebandaging may be needed — training is provided.
There is space for real companionship here. Reading aloud (especially science fiction), talking, or simply being present in a cozy home with cats is part of the rhythm. Independence is encouraged, and caregivers are trusted to use good judgment.
Who Thrives in This Role
This position fits someone 18 or older who is calm, emotionally steady, and not intimidated by strong adults. Experience is welcome, but a willingness to learn and advocate respectfully matters just as much. The ideal caregiver is open-minded, communicative, and looking for work that feels personal and meaningful — not transactional. Comfort around cats is essential.
This is not a high-turnover, clock-punching role. It’s a rare weekend placement for someone who values connection, trust, and a well-run home.
If you’re looking for a caregiving role that feels different — in the best way — this may be the one.
