Weekend Buddy – Community Companion Location:

Biron / Plover / Wisconsin Rapids Schedule: Saturday or Sunday (Sunday preferred),

5-8 hours shifts between 930am-530pm

Additional Opportunities: Occasional extra shifts, possible evenings or overnights when the family travels

About the Role

Looking for a calm, patient, and compassionate Weekend Buddy for one of our local members who has developmental disabilities and is nonverbal. This role focuses on community engagement, reducing social anxiety, and supporting daily living needs in a respectful, person‑centered way.

What You’ll Do 

Community Integration

o   Go on outings for exercise, social comfort, and independence

o   Visit community centers, libraries, stores, and parks

• Enjoy walking, shopping, and sightseeing together

Personal Care

• Assist with dressing, as well as personal and feminine hygiene needs
• Light meal preperation
• Help coordinate meaningful daily activities that build confidence and comfort

Ideal Candidate

You’re a great fit if you are:

• Compassionate and understanding of individual needs
• Experienced with developmental disabilities (non-verbal and anxiety support a plus)
• Able to pass a caregiver background check
• A safe driver with reliable transportation
