Pay: $16.99 per hour
Schedule: During the school year, after-school hours are Tuesdays and Fridays from 3:00–5:00 p.m. and Thursdays from 5:30–8:30 p.m. Summer hours are available Monday through Friday during regular daytime and afternoon hours. About the Role: Community Horizons is assisting a male member in the Stevens Point area with finding a dependable respite caregiver. The caregiver will provide supervision and support at home and accompany him on community outings. He enjoys music and going to the park, so this is a great opportunity for someone who likes helping others take part in meaningful activities.
Ideal Candidate: The right person will be dependable, consistent, patient, understanding, and comfortable supporting someone with special needs and autism. The member may occasionally experience outbursts. A calm, non-confrontational, go-with-the-flow approach is essential. Candidates must have reliable transportation, be willing to provide support in the community, and be comfortable around cats.
This role is part of self-directed services, where members choose their caregivers and Community Horizons supports members in remaining in their homes and maintaining their independence. No money is exchanged in the member’s home; caregivers are paid through a third-party fiscal agent.
Make a Meaningful Impact with Community Horizons
Support individuals. Empower independence. Build a flexible career you’ll love.
Community Horizons proudly supports individuals across Wisconsin who are enrolled in self-directed programs through Managed Care Organizations, IRIS (Include, Respect, I Self-Direct), and the CLTS (Children’s Long-Term Support) Program.
Self-direction allows participants—and families—to have control over who provides their care and how services are delivered, creating a truly personalized experience. While Community Horizons is not the employer of record, we assist by connecting caregivers with participants and guiding them through the hiring process. All hiring decisions are made by the member or their guardian
If you’re passionate about helping people live as independently as possible in their own homes, we’d love to talk with you. Community Horizons offers the support you need to succeed in your self-directed role
