Community Horizons is assisting a young woman living with Multiple Sclerosis in finding reliable back‑up caregivers who can step in when her primary staff are unavailable. This is a meaningful opportunity to support someone who values independence, dignity, and compassionate care.

About the Role

The back‑up caregiver will provide support as needed, which may include:

• Assisting with personal cares
• Helping with transfers and mobility
• Supporting daily routines to ensure comfort and safety
• Offering companionship and a calm, reassuring presence
• Light household tasks as needed
• Following established care routines and respecting the member’s preferences

This role is ideal for someone dependable, patient, and comfortable stepping in on short notice.

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Kind, patient, and respectful
• Comfortable assisting someone with MS
• Reliable and able to respond when back‑up support is needed
• Willing to learn the member’s care routines
• Trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality

Paid through a fiscal employer/agent

Start date flexible based on candidate availability

Community Horizons supports individuals in hiring and managing their own workers. As a back up caregiver, you will be hired directly by the participant and play a meaningful role in their independence and personal growth.

Experience with caregiving, personal cares, or disability support is helpful but not required—training can be provided for the right person.
