Community Horizons is assisting a local family in finding a warm, energetic, and engaged companion to spend time with a young adult woman in her home, on the north side of Stevens Point.
This is not a traditional caregiving position — it’s an opportunity to build connection, share laughter, and enjoy meaningful, active time together. Most of your time will be spent in active play and social engagement, creating fun, confidence-building experiences that bring joy to her day.

This role is part of a self-direction program, meaning you will work directly for the family rather than through an agency. This offers flexibility, a comfortable one-on-one relationship, and the chance to make a personal impact.
If you have a few hours to spare each week and a heart for creating positive, uplifting experiences, we’d love to connect with you!
Pay: $16.66 per hour
Schedule: 1-2 weekday evenings, 2–3 hours per shift. Ideally 5:30-8:30pm, flexible
Occasional Saturdays, anywhere from 2-8 hours on a Saturday.
What You’ll Be Doing:
· Engage in one-on-one interactions that promote connection and fun
· Encourage social, emotional, and recreational engagement
· Support activities that build confidence and joy
What You’ll Need:
- A kind heart and a reliable nature
- Experience in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
- A good communicator who enjoys helping others thrive through active interaction
- Comfortable initiating conversation and activities
- Excited to bring energy, patience, and creativity to every visit
- Willingness to complete a background check
