Job Summary
Hello! I live in Wausau and am seeking to hire an Independent Living Advocate to join my team in providing personal cares, housekeeping, and community integration activities.
I enjoy music, fishing, being outdoors and learning new things. I like to tease and joke around to connect with others.

This is a direct hire caregiver role with no agency involvement.
Responsibilities-
- Assist me with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming
- Transport me to and from my day service program as needed
- Administer medications as prescribed
- Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with my dietary needs and assist me during mealtimes/snacks
- Teach and support me with learning new skills
- Provide community integration opportunities based on my interests and abilities
- Maintain a clean, safe home environment through regular cleaning and household tasks
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote my mental well-being and build a trusting connection
- Observe me for changes in condition
Experience-
- Experience working with adults with disabilities, non-verbal individuals as well as behavioral issues a PLUS
- A compassionate, patient, energetic approach to caregiving
- Strong communication skills
- Reliability is a must
- Must have a driver's license and reliable transportation
- A background check is required before employment can begin and must be 18 years old to apply
Hours/Schedule-
Monday-Thursday 3:00pm-8:30am
Friday 3:00pm- Monday 8:30am
Some daytime hours may be available as well
*Flexible schedule!
Pick and choose the shifts that work best for your busy life*
Both day and night shifts are available
Wage- $16.50 per hour for dayshift- plus a mileage reimbursement of .35 per mile, overnight shifts offer a stipend of $50.75
This position needs someone who is looking for a long-term role and knows the importance of building connection and rapport
