Direct Care Companion
Seeking a dedicated, responsible Direct Care Companion to assist a member in her home for a few hours a week. This position involves working one on one with the member to provide personal cares, respite, safety and an opportunity for social connection and interaction.
This direct hire role is a where a person can make a REAL difference through connection and support to the member.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with special needs individuals and seizure disorders preferred but willing to train the RIGHT individual
- Strong communication skills and comfort with seizures is a must
- The ability to engage with the member and be responsive to their needs
- Must be dependable and have reliable transportation to get to and from the job
Schedule:
Mondays & Tuesdays 3:00pm-7:00pm * with the option to pick up another day or two*
*Shift times can be flexible*
Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor member for seizure activity/ changes in condition
- Provide a safe environment for the member to engage in activities and social connection
- Incontinence care and hygiene
- Medication administration as needed
- Assist with feeding meals/snacks
- Companionship and interaction with member
Pay Rate: $16.80 per hour
