Here at Community Horizons, we are searching for a Childcare Mentor for a family based in Seymour, WI. In this position, you would be helping a wonderful 10-year-old boy on the autism spectrum who is looking for a caring, dependable mentor to spend time with after school and on weekends.
Location:
- Seymour WI
Wage:
- $18.00 - 21.00/ Hour
Hours Needed:
- 10 Hours of Personal Support
- 10 Hours of Daily Living
- 20 hours a week altogether
(Very flexible scheduling)
Mentor tasks:
- Personal care reminders (Bathing, brushing teeth, and applying deodorant)
- Meal preparation and making sure he is eating
- Making sure that the child keeps a healthy balance with his siblings
- Being involved with family activities
- Problem-solving on why the child may be angry with the family
- Being active
- Safety and supervision
- Light housekeeping that’s related to the child
- Mentor a stable routine for morning and nighttime
Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a Wisconsin background check
- Getting the child away from electronics and taking him outdoors
- Safety and Supervision
- Be aware and redirect the child
- Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle ‘
- 17-year-olds are welcome to apply
- Experience working with children preferred
