A local family in the Wausau area is seeking a Childcare Technician to assist in providing care and supportive supervision for their 9-year-old boy with special needs. Â You will play a vital part in creating a safe, fun, and enriching experience that promotes growth, learning, and confidence in this wonderful young boy!

Responsibilities:Â
Participate and attend community events that align with member interests
Provide positive reinforcement and encouragement to promote independence and self-confidence
Plan outings to be active together, such as playing at a park, ice skating, playing in the snow, trampolines, soccer, etc.
Monitor and ensure safety of member at all times
Ability to remain calm and redirect defiant behaviors and or emotional challenges
Celebrate wins together as a team
Schedule:
Tuesday 4:30pm-8:00pm- OCCASIONAL
Wednesday 3:30pm-8:00pm
Thursday 5:00pm-8:00pm
Friday 8:00am-1:00pm
Occasional weekend hours available
*Shift times may change mid-summer-to be discussed at the time of interview
Wage: $14.98 per hour

Ideal Candidate:Â
Experience working with developmental disabilities as well as behaviors is a plus
Strong communication skills
Ability to stay calm and patient in stressful situations
Energetic and quick on the feet
Must have a valid driver's license and dependable transportation. A background check must be completed before employment can begin
