A local family in the Wausau area is seeking a Child Care Companion to assist in providing care and supportive supervision for their 9-year-old boy. You will play a vital part in creating a safe, fun, and enriching after-school experience that promotes growth, learning, and confidence in this wonderful young boy!

Schedule: Tuesday 4:30pm-8:00pm- OCCASIONAL
Wednesday 3:30pm-8:00pm
Thursday 5:00pm-8:00pm
Friday 8:00am-1:00pm
Occasional weekend hours available
*Shift times may change mid-summer-to be discussed at the time of interview
Wage: $16.80/HR.

This is a direct hire job with no agency involvement
Tasks:
- Participate and attend community events that align with member interests
- Provide positive reinforcement and encouragement to promote independence and self-confidence
- Plan outings to be active together, such as playing at a park, ice skating, playing in the snow, trampolines, soccer, etc.
- Monitor and ensure safety of member at all times
- Ability to remain calm and redirect defiant behaviors and or emotional challenges
- Celebrate wins together as a team
Requirements:
- Experience working with developmental disabilities as well as behaviors is a plus
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to stay calm and patient in stressful situations
- Energetic and quick on the feet
Must have a valid driver's license and a background check must be completed before employment can begin
