A supportive Luxemburg Wi, family is seeking a caring and patient respite worker to provide assistance and companionship for their young adult son who has autism. Their goal is to find someone who can offer a safe, engaging and positive environment, allowing them to take short breaks while ensuring he remains happy and well cared for. Hours needed are weekends, a Friday - Saturday (full days) could potentially need a weekday.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage in activities with the member based on his interest ( ipad, PlayStation, go on outings, Botanical Gardens, Bay Beach, Wildlife sanctuary)
  • Provide supervision and ensure his safety at all times.
  • Assist with daily living skills, bathing, personal cares, dressing, brushing teeth
  • Meal preparation
  • Offer companionship and emotional support
  • Communicate effectively with parent about daily activities and any concerns

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder is highly preferred
  • Understanding of autism and related behavioral strategies
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Ability to have authority
