Job description:
Community Horizons is assisting a local community member in seeking a dependable, respectful caregiver to provide essential daily support that promotes safety, dignity, and independence. This is a meaningful one‑on‑one role supporting a quadriplegic gentleman in his home.
About the Role
The caregiver will assist with daily living tasks, mobility, and health‑related routines. Support includes:
- Transfers and mobility assistance — helping him safely in and out of bed with hoyer
- Compression socks — applying and removing as part of daily care
- Personal care — bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting
- Wheelchair support — understanding that he controls his power wheelchair with a straw device
- Positioning and comfort — ensuring safe, comfortable body alignment
- Companionship — conversation, presence, and respectful engagement
Ideal Candidate
- Patient, mindful, and reliable
- Comfortable with hands‑on personal care
- Able to follow clear routines and communicate well and be prompt as his wife is the 2nd caretaker and they like to stick to a routine
- Be organized.
- Experience with quadriplegia or complex physical needs is helpful but not required — training is provided
