Here at Community Horizons, we are looking for a childcare provider for a bright and energetic 15-year-old who has special needs, along with a psychiatric disorder. In this position, the childcare provider would be doing fun activities in the community with the child. This is a chance to make a real impact while having fun outside and building a meaningful connection.
Location:
- Kaukauna WI,
Schedule:
- 15-20 hours per week. After school and weekend hours.
- After school start time is 3p
- Weekend start time is 10a
(Flexible scheduling is available, and the family is willing to discuss all availability offered.)
Wage:
- $17.98
Job tasks:
- Plan and execute community outings.
- Clean, organize, and maintain a child’s bedroom.
- Spot clean bathroom (surface cleaning, take out garbage, replace toilet paper, etc.)
- Provide transportation to and from outings.
- Engage in de-escalating tactics as needed.
- Provide 1:1 supervision.
- Provide a safe space for community exploration.
Requirements:
- Driver's license
- Reliable vehicle- willing to use personal vehicle to provide transportation (local travel only).
- Experience working with adults or children with complex needs (Mental health, Developmental disabilities, Autism, ADHD, ODD, Etc.)
- Willingness to learn and accept coaching.
- Ability to pass a Wisconsin Caregiving Background Check.
- Proven dependability.
- Committed to providing care for children and adults with special needs.
(Please note that this is a cat-friendly and dog-friendly home. There are also various caged critters in the home. No care is needed, but it is important to note for those with allergies or fears.)
