Here at Community Horizons, we are assisting a family in the Kaukauna area to find a Child Caregiver for their 8-year-old son. This child does have special needs, along with medium-higher support needs.
Please note: The child does have some problems with de-escalation and behaviors, so some experience working with children on the spectrum or who have special needs would go a long way, but if you are newer to the field, we are eager to hear from you.
In this position, the Child Caregiver would be taking this young boy to fun activities and keeping him safe and engaged during these activities.
Location:
- Kaukauna, Wi
Available Shift:
· 20 hours a week
· Flexible weekend care
· As-needed weekday care
Pay Rate:
- $17.98/Hour
Tasks You Will Be Doing With The Child:
- Talk with parents about what the plan would be for the day
- Providing 1:1 supervision
- Mentor personal care tasks ( Applying deodorant, showering, etc.)
- Provide Transportation to and from outings
- Offer emotional support when needed
- Activities
- Engaging in de-escalation tactics as needed
Family Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s Licenses and reliable vehicle.
- High schoolers are welcome to apply
- Able to pass a Wisconsin background check
- Experience working with adults or children with complex needs ( Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, Autism, ADHD, ODD, Etc. )
- Proven dependability
- Willingness to learn and accept coaching
- Committed to providing care for children with special needs.
- Someone who can understand de-escalation
- Someone active
- Assisting With Safety and Supervision
