Hello! We’re a family in Wisconsin Rapids looking for a compassionate, dependable caregiver to help support our middle-aged son in our home. If you enjoy hands-on caregiving, longer shifts, and building meaningful connections, we’d love to meet you.
Our son is nonverbal and benefits from attentive, interactive care. We’re hoping to find someone who is patient, observant, and engaged — someone who understands that presence, consistency, and routine truly matter. A good sense of humor and a calm, steady approach go a long way in our home.
This role offers flexibility. Shifts are typically 12 hours from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and the schedule is created one month at a time. You can pick up shifts as they work for you, and there may be opportunities for more regular, consistent hours over time. If you prefer longer shifts so you have more free days, this could be a great fit.
Pay
• $16.32–$17.00 per hour, depending on experience
During your time with us, you’ll help with personal care, showering or sponge baths, transfers and repositioning, range-of-motion exercises, and general daily living support. Care may also include tube feedings via pump, oxygen support, nebulizer treatments, suctioning, wheelchair safety, and use of a ceiling lift. Training is available, and we’re happy to teach the right person.
We also value getting out occasionally — even if it’s just a short walk outside or a quick trip to a local store — and appreciate caregivers who are comfortable supporting those moments.
We’re looking for someone who is attentive, reliable, and consistent, with at least one year of professional experience in a healthcare-related field. Experience with brain injury or seizure disorders is helpful, but a willingness to learn and follow established routines is just as important. Reliable transportation is a must.
If you’re looking for a caregiving role where your skills are respected, your presence matters, and you can truly make a difference in someone’s daily life, we’d love to hear from you. Community Horizons will connect with applicants and provide additional details.
Thank you for considering becoming part of our care team — we look forward to meeting the right person.
